Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatments: Acupuncture
Miami Beach is known to be a hotspot for wellness, which is one of the reasons that Miami Beach CWC is known for top–tier acupuncture treatments. We have helped hundreds of people find relief from chronic pain and health improvements with the practice of traditional Chinese medicine treatments, including acupuncture.
Acupuncture is based on ancient Chinese medicine that has been validated over the millennia by documented usage and rigorous modern testing. Acupuncture uses very fine small needles to tone and harmonize your body’s “Qi.” Qi is your body’s energetic system, said to flow through meridians-or pathways accessible through 350 acupuncture points in the body. Inserting needles into these points with appropriate combinations is said to bring the energy flow back into proper balance.
These acupuncture points are places where your nerves, muscles, and connective tissue can be stimulated. The stimulation of acupuncture increases blood flow, while at the same time triggering the activity of the body’s natural painkillers. Acupuncture is safe, with few (if any) side effects. It can be effectively combined with other treatments, and it helps patients for whom pain medications are not suitable.
At Miami Beach CWC, the patient is examined to assess their condition and offered advice on self-care or other complementary therapies, such as Chinese herbs. Then the patient will be asked to lie on their back, front, or one side, depending on where the needles are to be inserted. The acupuncturist inserts one or more thin, single-use, disposable, sterile needles in certain areas for the patient, who is in a comfortable room with soothing sounds and heat lamps. The patient will relax and let the needles stay in place for approximately 30 minutes.
Acupuncture Treats Many Conditions
The number of acupuncture treatments needed depends on the individual, however people with chronic conditions may need one to two treatments a week over several months. Acute issues normally improve after 8 to 12 sessions. Acupuncture is an effective treatment for many health conditions and issues, ranging from digestive disorders and fatigue to colds and arthritis. Acupuncture done at the Miami Beach CWC is often used in conjunction with moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, and Chinese herbal medicines.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), acupuncture has been effectively proven to treat:
